Dying remains a difficult area for individuals, families, and medical practitioners. The spiritual significance of dying has become overshadowed by the mechanical view of our current Western science with its emphasis on the physical process of dying. This lecture will explore spiritual phenomena which occur at the time of dying and provide models for the dying process as suggested by reports of near death experience and by the visions of mystics and mediums in many cultures. The implications of these ideas for mental health will be considered.
This lecture is designed to speak clearly to anyone who is willing to courageously face and acknowledge the fact that everyone must, at some time, personally experience the death process. It will also be informative for psychiatrists, psychologists, medical practitioners and others involved with terminal care.
CEU Credits are available for attendance at this lecture
