This class will provide the materials for and instructions on how to create a small altar using recycled wood and mosaic techniques. It will serve as a shelf, or surface on which objects can be placed. The class will also create the personal space for participants to share what is in their lives that brings them a sense of gratitude, joy or sorrow. The act of building a personal altar brings sacredness to our daily lives in which we can take a moment to reflect on a loved one, our own healing, or the richness of our lives. Small objects, photographs, or a single flower can be a touchstone for reflection and help us to stay on track with our attitudes and intentions. Come and create a little altar—no experience is required, just a willingness to show up.
