Learn to knit!

This 6-session class will cover all the basics you need to be off and running as a knitter. You’ll learn to knit and purl, increase and decrease,
read a pattern, seam, and find correct gauge. A class project of a hat will help you practice these skills. Needles and yarn provided, just bring pen,
paper, and hands ready to knit!

KNITTING BEYOND THE BASICS:
INTRODUCTION TO LACE KNITTING

If you can knit and purl, increase and decrease,
and cast on and off, you’re ready for this class.

From traditional Victorian shawls to funky modern designs, lacework is one of the most exciting and versatile knitting techniques. In this class you'll learn the stitches used to knit lace, how to read lace charts, various styles of lace cast-ons, construction of lace pieces, and a variety of lace patterns. The class project will be a lace sampler scarf on which to practice all you have learned.  It's not as intimidating as it sounds!

YARN DYEING WORKSHOP

Come play with color in this one day yarn-dyeing workshop!
Using safe acid dyes and superwash wool yarn, you'll learn some color theory and a variety of methods for dyeing solid yarns, self-striping yarns, and other variegated effects. Materials fee includes 5 skeins to dye and take home with you.
Please bring a bag lunch.
