Give your mind the day off, and come prepared
to move your body and sing your song.
Using the 5 Rhythms work developed by Gabrielle Roth, we will begin the day surrendering our feet to the beat and "dancing our prayers." Starting from where we are, we will gently move through resistance and inertia towards the land of the living, a place of sweaty freedom and full-bodied expression.
In the afternoon we will explore the power of our own voice to heal and release our heart, allowing our love to flow freely and the melody of our being to be heard. Whether it's an old show tune, a classic rock number, a hymn or a nursery rhyme, in freely offering our song to the world we open ourselves to a place of celebration and joy that invites others in.
No prior dance or singing experience is required; the sluggish and creaky are welcome, as well as the tone deaf and terrified. Please come with loose clothing, a favorite, meaningful song memorized (and if possible, bring along the sheet music as well) and a bag lunch.
