“The soil is the great connector of lives. The source and destination of all. Without proper care of it we can have no community, because without proper care for it we can have no life.” Wendell Berry
Compost is magic in the garden: it supplies nutrients, texture, absorbency and balancing effects to any type of soil. It is something anyone can do to connect back to the living soil. Even if you don’t have a big yard or garden you can make compost. In this workshop you will learn the rudiments of the biological process in composting. You will come away with information concerning containers (pros and cons about bins, piles and drums); methods (hot pile, cold pile, turning and worms); and do’s and don’ts (nuisance control and keeping the neighbors happy).
