Dick Smith celebrated cataloging his 1000th book from the New Orleans donation in August by deciding to read it then and there. He has since moved on to catalog another dozen boxes. There is clear light at the end of the tunnel with only 12 or 15 boxes to go. Mary Lynch, who had no computer experience at all, has made great progress in learning the cataloging software and is nearly ready to help train the next library angels. Come help her hone her skills as you gain your own personal insight into this amazing, ever-changing collection of wisdom and support.

September brought yet another private collection to the library to be shared with the public. Tineke Tan of PFLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays) donated about 200 books and 3 shelving units. Cataloging of these items will begin in November; though getting them on the shelves for circulation will have to wait for the miracle of more space at Evergreen Cove.
