EVERGREEN COVE NEWS
Welcome to Winter 2012 at Evergreen Cove
I’ve had the privilege of serving Evergreen Cove for six years, and every single day I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing little miracles. I watch someone speed into the parking lot and race, cellphone to ear, to an appointment with one of our practitioners. An hour later, I watch them stroll back across the lot, cellphone forgotten, pausing to take in the gardens or the sky. Students hurry into yoga class looking harried, hunched and distracted and emerge looking ten years younger, their movements fluid and easy. The lobby fills with excited voices and bright eyes as participants leave a workshop with minds and hearts reinvigorated with new ideas and different perspectives. It really is amazing.
A friend of mine once had business cards made that listed his occupation as “Human Being.” As I looked it over, his wife quipped, “Yes, but he only works at it part-time.” That’s true for most of us, isn’t it? We’re so busy doing that we don’t have much time just to be. Those miracles I get to witness? It’s the transformation of human doings back into human beings.
If you are ready to reclaim your identity as a human being, the classes, workshops and wellness services at Evergreen Cove can help set you back on the road to balance. Whether you want to move, think, relax or express, there’s something for you. And maybe you’ll be the next miracle I see out in the parking lot, smiling and walking with a spring in your step, magically restored to who and what you really are.
On behalf of Evergreen Cove’s board, staff, practitioners and instructors, I wish you a happy, healthy and joyful new year.
Sincerely,
Naomi Hyman
Director of Programs, Mission and Communications
